While it remains a little-known fact to many, women play an active role in Freemasonry. In fact, the oldest order in the UK is the Order of Women Freemasons (OWF). Operating along the same traditional lines as their male counterparts, members of the OWF share a strong commitment to charitable work and we are incredibly proud to be one of the causes they support. 

Twenty-five charities across England and Wales have received a share of £1.6 million following the first round of applications to the Freemasons’ Charity’s Community Fund.

Around 60 young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) across the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) region will have the opportunity to prepare for an internship or employment pathway, thanks to a significant grant awarded to Direct Education Business Partnership (DEBP) CIO.

A journey from Newcastle to London is daunting enough by car or train. But Guy Smith from Northumberland Freemasons chose an alternative route one without roadworks or delays. He decided to run the entire distance to raise vital funds for the Freemasons’ Charity.

600 children and their parents are set to benefit from an expanded range of early years activities over the next three years thanks to a grant to GL11 Community Hub.

Around 75 local veterans from Scarborough, Ryedale and the surrounding areas will receive support from Carers Plus Yorkshire (CPY) over the next 12 months, thanks to a £50,000 grant from Yorkshire North & East Ridings Freemasons. The aim of the project is to enhance support for unpaid veteran carers while also developing community-based volunteer opportunities.

The London Marathon returns this April, and we are incredibly proud of the dedicated fundraisers taking on the iconic 26.2 mile course in aid of the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF, the Freemasons’ charity). Among them is Andy Nicholson, a Freemason from Staffordshire
