Cycling is a brilliant way to stay fit and build strong camaraderie. For nearly a decade, the Durham Freemasons have proven just that, with their annual cycle rides bringing together over 25 participants each year. Beyond the physical challenge, their efforts raise vital funds for charity, creating a lasting positive impact on their local community.

Around 600 vulnerable local children will receive warm coats, shoes and other essential clothing to make them ready for school, thanks to a grant from the Freemasons to the Yorkshire Children’s Charity.

Boys and young men affected by domestic abuse will receive specialist support through a new outdoor wellbeing programme, thanks to a grant from Monmouthshire Freemasons to Gwent-based charity, Cyfannol Women’s Aid.

Leominster families with pre-school age children will be welcomed to the new programme of nature play sessions beginning this summer at nearby Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum thanks to a grant from Herefordshire Freemasons to Herefordshire Wildlife Trust.

While it remains a little-known fact to many, women play an active role in Freemasonry. In fact, the oldest order in the UK is the Order of Women Freemasons (OWF). Twenty-five charities across England and Wales have received a share of £1.6 million following the first round of applications to the Freemasons’ Charity’s Community Fund.

A journey from Newcastle to London is daunting enough by car or train. But Guy Smith from Northumberland Freemasons chose an alternative route one without roadworks or delays. He decided to run the entire distance to raise vital funds for the Freemasons’ Charity. 

Children from West Berkshire (Thatcham, Newbury and Hungerford), Reading, Wokingham Borough and throughout all of Oxfordshire who have experienced trauma as victims of domestic abuse will attend a Bounce Back 4 Kids group thanks to a grant to Parents And Children Together (PACT).
