Theory of Change

The Freemasons’ Charity is committed to understanding how its funding support makes a positive impact on society and addresses needs. In early 2024, the Freemasons’ Charity (formerly known as the MCF), with the support of Inside Impact, developed Theories of Change. These serve as roadmaps outlining how the Freemasons’ Charity aims to contribute to positive changes for individuals and communities through its funding programmes, including grants to charities and support for individuals and households. 

The Theories of Change enable us to gather targeted evidence on agreed outcomes and to enhance our learning through a focused approach. This, in turn, will help us allocate funding more effectively and efficiently, ensuring greater impact in the areas we serve.
